An 18th century “Trimmone Bianco” Amphora
An 18th century white glazed Italian “Timmone” amphora originally made to store and carry wine in, with the typically large ‘V’ shaped handles above an elegantly-rounded ‘belly’. Area of Grottaglie, Puglia (Southern Italy) circa 1780.
Condition report: Complete and in good, unrestored condition. The surfaces are worn and may show chipping, losses of majolica glazing, stains, hairline cracks and old repairs.
