An early French Vigneron Table
An early 19th century French circular tilt-top Vigneron (wine-maker’s) solid oak table tilt-top, the timbers well-burnished and patinated over time. Note the lyre-shaped swivel mechanism that allows this tabletop to tilt. This type of table was designed to be easily transported and stowed away, and was primarily used for wine-tastings. Ample leg-room under the top. Area of Burgundy, circa 1840.
Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition.
