A pair of Louis XVI Armchairs
A pair of late 18th century French Louis XVI period carved walnut Fauteuil armchairs of understated elegance. The medallion backs with pine cone finials and knotted-bow crests above broad and deep seats and sweeping arm-rests, standing on Neoclassical, tapering, fluted legs. Note the excellent, Classical proportions and the masculine character of these armchairs. Paris, circa 1780.

Condition report: In good and un-restored condition, retaining a very dry patination. Stripped of their upholstery.
