A Parisian Louis LXVI Bergere Armchair
An elegant 19th century French Louis XVI style finely carved and painted “Bergere a Oreilles” wing-back library armchair, the ample back and rails decorated with finely carved ‘running-ribbon’ mouldings and with a knotted-bow crest, the uprights with carved acanthus leaves. Of very good and formal design typical of the Louis XVI period, this armchair is exceptionally comfortable to sit on. This armchair retains the old brocade fabric, in good condition. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
