A ‘Triumphant’ Empire Commode
An important, early 19th century Napoleon I period, “Triumphant” First Empire ebonised commode, the facade retaining its original and jewellery-like gilt bronze mounts, handles and escutcheons, and pilasters’capitols and plinths. Fitted with a secret drawer in the plinth, and with its original dark grey 'Gris Saint Anne' marble top, in very good condition – no cracks or breakages. Area of Paris, circa 1810.
