Venus au Bain
A 20th century reconstituted stone garden statue depicting the famous “Venus au Bain” (also known as “La Bagneuse”), commissioned by the King of France, Louis XV, to Christophe-Gabriel Allegrain in 1757. The original is on display at the Louvre Museum. Area of Isle de France, circa 1950.
Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition. Retaining a rich and weathered patination.
Dimensions: Height 120 cm, diameter of plinth 36 cm.
